Yogacharya Suresh Kodolikar lives with his wife, Niva, and has two daughters, Neeyata and Samata, in Ellicott City, MD. He works as an architect, having earned a Master of Architecture from Catholic University of America.
He met Paramahamsa Baba Hariharananda through his wife, Niva, at the Karar Ashram in 1974. Niva's grandfather used to meditate with Shriyukteshwarji and Baba Hariharananda in Karar Ashram. Four generations in her family practice Kriya Yoga.
Yogacharya Suresh Kodolikar took initiation from Gurudev in 1975 in New York and was authorized by Baba Hariharananda to initiate in 1980. He has served as a center leader in Ellicott City since 1977, and as a board member of Kriya Yoga Institute since 2004.
He travels, teaching Kriya and initiating students throughout the USA as his schedule allows. He feels that his 30+ years of practice helps to support him in living in a peaceful and harmonious way and helps him to have a deeper understanding of life situations with some amount of compassionate detachment.
