The Kriya Yoga International organizations provide ongoing spiritual teaching, training and support for seekers through many types of events , striving to provide an environment that encourages spiritual development and practical application in daily life. The Mother Centers in each region coordinate these Kriya Yoga activities through their affiliated centers and groups. Kriya Yoga Initiation Programs usually consist of a public introductory lecture in the community on Kriya Yoga, and initiation into Kriya Yoga is offered, which is followed by learning the technique and attending Kriya Yoga meditation classes.
Kriya Yoga Retreats are for initiates in this lineage to deepen their understanding of Kriya Yoga and their personal practice. Typically the retreat has a particular theme with many meditation classes and spiritual discourses.
Kriya Yoga Initiation Only is held at a center when there is a yogacharya (teacher) in residence. The seeker receives initiation and attends the meditation classes.
Kriya Yoga Special Event Seminars are national and international programs held at the Mother Centers throughout the year. These seminars honor the masters' birthday and mahasamadhi, Guru Purnima Day, Foundation Day of the ashrams, and other special events. The events include celebrations, meditation classes, spiritual discourses, and other activities, depending on the nature of the event.
Seva Days are usually anywhere from one day to one week in length, and are an opportunity for spiritual aspirants to offer their services to the organization. The activities will often include cleaning, yardwork, and general maintenance at one of the ashrams, or assisting with the logistics of a program (setup, registration, flowers, and the like).
Kriya Yoga Intensive Meditation Programs help those who are already initiated into this lineage of Kriya Yoga to deepen their spiritual practice. It is usually two to three days of intense meditation practice with some satsangs (spiritual discourses).
Kriya Yoga Local Events are listed on only the local center's Web site calendar. These are typically smaller events that are organized for the benefit of local kriyavans.
The Lecture Only event consists of a public talk delivered by one of the Kriya Yoga acharyas. , striving to provide an environment that encourages spiritual development and practical application in daily life.
