Soul Culture: A Journal of Kriya Yoga

To seek the soul in your every action is svadhyaya. Svadhyaya means ordinarily to read such books as the Upanishads, Brahma Sutra, Bhagavad Gita, Torah, Bible, Quran, and other scriptures. These are the authentic books for Self-realization. Kriya Yoga is the applied part of all scriptures. The metaphysical significance of sva which means “soul,” and adhyaya, “to study.” Svadhyaya menas to study thy self. The soul is breathing day and night. To seek the soul in every breath and to love the formless God is svadhyaya. Svadhyaya is soul-culture. It is described in the Upanishads, Bhagavad Gita, and Patanjali's Yoga Sutra.
