Mahalaya Shraddha

With the blessings of God and Gurus, we are organizing a Mahalaya Shraddha ceremony at Hariharananda Gurukulam, Balighai, Puri on October 2, 2024.

Significance of Mahalaya Shraddha:

Shraddha is a profound expression of respect and gratitude towards our departed ancestors. The purpose of performing this ritual is to help them in their onward journey and seek their blessings. 

Moreover, shraddha performed on Mahalaya Amavasya and especially at sacred sites like Sri Jagannatha Puri and in Hariharananda Gurukulam is highly auspicious.

Eligibility: 

Both kriyavans and non-kriyavans of any traditions can participate in this event. 

We request you to fill the form given below, and provide the names of the deceased (last three generations) on both paternal and maternal side. In case if some of the names are not available/not known, the ritual can still be performed.

Request Form

Please submit the request for Mahalaya Shraddha using this form by Sept 30, 2024.

Fee/Dakshina

We request a nominal dakshina (fee) to pay for shraaddha materials, dakshina for priests, and feeding Gomatas.
The fee is INR 5000 for Indian nationals and USD 150 / EURO 150 or equivalent for people residing outside India.
