Yogacharya Kameswara Rao's motto was 'service above self.' He dedicated his life to the practice of Kriya Yoga and sharing the unique gifts of Kriya practice with all. He was an MD and lived in Anjaneyapuram, Chipurapalle, India, with his wife and family.
He was active in the community Lions Club as president, and the construction of the Maruthi Hariharaskletram (temple). In honor of his guru's birth centenary, he focused his service on the construction of the Kriya Yoga Dhyana Mandir and writing about Paramahamsa Hariharananda.
Yogacharya Kameswara Rao met his guru in 1971 at the All India Divine Life Conference at Bharabati Stadium in Cuttack and was initiated into Kriya Yoga in the same year at the Karar Ashram. He began teaching as a yogacharya in 1996 and was a member of the Board of Directors.
He traveled and taught Kriya Yoga throughout India, and in 2001 he traveled to several cities in the USA. He felt that Kriya Yoga enriched his life in all aspects and was supremely grateful to his guru Paramahamsa Hariharananda.
