Sanskrit / Scripture Courses
The following courses are conducted by Swami Adhyatmananda Giri:
1. SANS-01 - 'Sanskrit Course for Beginners' - Course Completed
It is an introductory course for those who don't have any previous background in Sanskrit and are keen to start their journey into the world of Sanskrit. The purpose of this course is to make you acquainted with the salient aspects of Sanskrit language, without burdening you with details and nuances that could overwhelm a beginner. This course is a good foundation for learning the divine language and will serve as a window for all those who want to learn the priceless tradition, culture, and philosophy of India. This course would serve as a stepping stone for interested students, willing to explore higher concepts and structure of the language.
2. SANS-02 - Sanskrit Course Level-2 - Course Completed
It is the next level course, building concepts over what is taught in the SANS-01 course. Knowledge of the Devanagari script is required for this course.
3. In-depth study of scripture (Bhagavad-Gita 2nd Chapter) - Course Completed
The second chapter of Bhagavad-Gita is considered the summary of the whole Bhagavad-Gita. This is a study of the scripture in the original form using the detailed Sanskrit grammatical analysis. You would notice a marked difference in your depth of understanding using this approach vs. if you were to simply study the scripture using translation alone.
Prerequisites: None. But some knowledge of Sanskrit will make the class more meaningful. If you have not already attended the 'SANS-01 Sanskrit Course for Beginners', you are encouraged to go through the material. The class will be conducted using both Devanagari and Roman (IAST) scripts.
We will be using a screen share during this class to display the Sanskrit grammatical analysis. Please use a personal computer or big screen tablet to join the course. Cell phones are not recommended to join this course, as the screens are generally too small to view all the text comfortably.
